So I’m Going Under the Knife. Probably.

This week has been a whirlwind. It’s a little sad when you sit down to cover a blog post that touches on some of the events that happened over the past few days and your mind goes blank. Thankfully, I’ve got a daily journal that keeps me on task. I’m a little into three months’ worth of stuff in my journal and I’m really happy I stayed up with it. I may do a post later once I’ve finished my first book (I have two more waiting in the wings for me to continue). I’m still thinking of ways to make it more visually appealing and “artsy” I suppose. I don’t want to invest in a whole catalog of stuff from Hobby Lobby to do it, but surely there are some cool ideas out there. If you have any or know where I can check them out, let me know!

The big news is that I found out that I need a procedure done. Over the past two weeks or so I’ve felt like my belly button was weird. Was I making it up in my head? Was I gaining a little weight. My innie of a belly button felt not so much an innie anymore. I went to the doctor’s office on Tuesday to have someone officially look at it and confirm what I think may be going on with my midsection, and sure enough, I’ve got a hernia. I suppose I’m lucky enough in the fact that if I were to get something like this, it could be in worse, more sensitive places. There’s no pain and it doesn’t keep me from doing anything; it’s just there. So, I was referred to a general surgeon and I will see them late Thursday. If things work out, I can schedule the surgery for some time the week of Christmas since I already have the time off from work. Fingers crossed.

Tuesday was the monthly writer chat #Chance2Connect. If you writerly people haven’t checked this out I highly recommend it. The chat is run by the awesome Kim Chance (author of Keeper, coming out in January 2018) and is a monthly chat where she posts a series of questions for other writers to answer, comment, and converse with. It’s where I’ve met most of my writer friends online and it’s a great group of people. The chat starts at 9pm Central Time and goes for about an hour and a half to two hours. Again, check it out.

I was able to check out the new Star Wars movie last night. Overall, it was a good movie, but there are some plot holes that could have been tightened up. The movie theatre I went to had some issues with the 3D projector in our theatre and had to stop it twice during the trailers and once after we had gotten about two minutes into the movie. They eventually had us move into a new theatre where we could start over on a good projector. Effectively my 7pm movie didn’t start until 8:25, but if this was my worst problem for the day, life is good.

I don’t think I have a huge whole lot going on this weekend so I may be able to get some writing done on Saturday; at least that’s my goal. I also need to do some stuff around the house. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll check in next week!
